Q&A with Sevrign Coleman

Introducing the new column, Fashion Forward Q&A with Sevrign Coleman.

Welcome to the first edition of my new Q&A column. Each issue, I will be sharing my thoughts on the NW fashion and entertainment scene, as well as doing occasional reviews on different product lines that could be beneficial to your look. Off the top of my head I know we’ll be talking about makeup, eyelashes, and every style nail you can think of. Is it just me, or ladies or are we spending mad amounts of time and money on our eyes and hands?

We’re going to talk about the best way to spoil yourself! I enjoy getting a manicure and pedicure so much, and it makes me feel sooo good! Sometimes you must spoil yourself, because if you don’t, who will?

Q: Why am I here (in the Magazine), and how did I become a boss entrepreneur?
A: Some time ago, I made up my mind that I didn’t want to work for people the rest of my life. I have a lot of adventurist things I would like to accomplish, and I took the opportunity to launch my own business as soon I could. It’s not easy, I’ve done a lot of grueling hard jobs that I could have got physically hurt doing. Long hours and unsafe working conditions that caused many men and women to quit. But I continued until my chance came. Today, I am still growing but I’m in a much safer and positive environment for which I thank the Lord.

Q: How did I get started styling clothes?
A: All my life I’ve had a passion for fashion. Growing up, I would buy fabric and style my own dresses or tiny tops. As I got older, I was often asked to create ensembles for musician friends, and other actors, dancers, and other creatives who perform. Reviews are always great, with new clients often shocked at how good they look in the colors and designs I use. Not to mention I’m often stopped on the street and complimented on what I’m wearing, which is usually something I’ve created or put together.

Q: I interview artists and actors for VIBRANT Magazine. What inspired me to do artist interviews?
A: The Entertainment Industry has been a huge part of my life. I love to meet new people and ask questions about their careers and how they got started in the business. To see the excitement in their eyes when they explain why they’re so passionate about what they do is very fulfilling.

Q: I’m writing a book! What was the inspiration?
A: I decided to write my book, “Where the Truth Lies”, about 10 years ago. My truth about Justice in America and the many working parts of the criminal justice system is something that the general public doesn’t know about nor understand. It’s a fascinating subject and I’m diving deep into sharing what I have learned.

Q: I’m acting! What’s coming up?
A: I was a stand-out actress in my high school theater class and I am very excited about having an opportunity to act locally. I am in negotiations to work with a local production company as a principal in their upcoming film. I can’t reveal too much just yet, but let’s say that I think the project will be “on point!”

Thank you for taking the time to get to know who I am. I look forward to getting to know you through future articles and shared interactions. Please write me at VibrantArt206@gmail.com with your thoughts and ideas.
