During the chaos of 2020, Christian artists find comfort through worship and praise
As 2020 brought trials and tribulations unlike anything previously seen in Seattle, it seems only appropriate that the pestilence and plagues were met with a Biblical-sized response. As Reverend Robert Rogers once said, “My faith didn’t remove the pain, but it got me through the pain. Trusting God didn’t diminish or vanquish the anguish, but it enabled me to endure it.”
Holding on to that belief, many Christian artists have not only survived during this year of unpredictability, but have flourished. Some, like Olympia’s Taylor Martin, have used the quarantine time to work virtually with other siloed artists to complete compilation albums such as Sacred Tape #3. Other artists, such as Sean Feucht have braved the streets to share a message of peace and hope to streets that are literally on fire. Through their praise, they have found strength, security, and peace.
1. SEAN FEUCHT
“August 15 at 6:22 am. This moment right here is a summation of my 36th year of life. In Cal Anderson Park (formerly CHOP) singing songs to Jesus while people behind me lob obscenities at me and my family. While satanists roam throughout the crowd and agitators trash our gear, God brings us an unexpected gift in the form of a man wearing Muslim garb, who spontaneously dances with outrageous joy next to me on the last song. My response to this blessing is to shout out with grateful laughter.
My life is yours Jesus. You’re the Good Shepherd. I’ll do whatever you want me to do and go wherever you want me to go. I’m sure it will all be insanely wild, spontaneous, full of resistance and yet full of unexpected joy. My 37th year is yours starting today.”
