Hello VIBRANT Family! I’m super excited to join Vibrant Arts & Entertainment Magazine as the Health & Wellness contributor. First though I’d like to share a little about me. I’ve spent the past ten years exploring my life’s purpose which took me in several career directions because the only think I was sure of was that I’m on planet earth to help people. So naturally that led me to health careers, first in dental then felt like I wanted to contribute more so I began taking classes leading me towards the field of nursing.
However, after entering the hospital environment and seeing all the politics that played into it, I decided hmmm maybe that’s not for me although I thoroughly enjoyed my patients and comforting their families. So those 5 years in the hospital I was inspired to start a free lunch program for my hilltop community, due to a need I saw. It was then a HUGE lightbulb lit up in my head and I had finally found what my “helping” looked like…. I found my purpose!
It was a life changing decision to listen to my spirit. Soon, I’d be joining my native brothers and sisters at Standing Rock and speaking on panels about homelessness, food justice, and talking about health disparities amongst certain populations. I felt myself get my butterfly wings as the strength I gained from helping others also healed and strengthened me, inspired me to continue exploring life and search for any and every answer I felt I needed from it.
However, I haven’t been without hardships in health, or the most positive mental outlook at times but because I’m not a “quitter” that has also led me on another journey of not just self-exploration but for natural healing
remedies from Mother Earth. I’ve found a love for nature as I began to go on hikes to reset my emotional and mental states as well as begin to gain control over my physical health. I learned how to say no and practice
self-care. So as someone that has dealt with my own fair share of physical and emotional health issues, worked in healthcare, and has dedicated my life to “serving” I look forward to sharing these experiences with
you along with new information on natural ways to help you work towards balance of your overall well-being through self-care.
As we chronicle our journey from cocoon to butterfly, I invite you to give your own feedback, stories, and suggestions.
You can always correspond with me at firstname.lastname@example.org, Twitter @ Rosa_Cinnamon, or Facebook @vibrantart206. I’d love to hear from you!
What could be a better season than now to start anew, heal, blossom, and develop into the beautiful butterflies
we are. So, thank you for allowing me to share with you.
